     @X08An automatic reaction to walking into a dark room is to turn on the
light@X05.@X08  This can be fatal@X05,@X08 if a lightbulb bomb has been placed in the overhead
light socket@X05.@X08  A lightbulb bomb is surprisingly easy to make@X05.@X08  It also comes
with its own initiator and electric ignition system@X05.@X08  On some lightbulbs@X05,@X08 the
lightbulb glass can be removed from the metal base by heating the base of a
lightbulb in a gas flame@X05,@X08 such as that of a blowtorch or gas stove@X05.@X08  This must
be done carefully@X05,@X08 since the inside of a lightbulb is a vacuum@X05.@X08  When the glue
gets hot enough@X05,@X08 the glass bulb can be pulled off the metal base@X05.@X08  On other
bulbs@X05,@X08 it is necessary to heat the glass directly with a blowtorch or
oxy@X05-@X08acetylene torch@X05.@X08  When the bulb is red hot@X05,@X08 a hole must be carefully poked
in the bulb@X05,@X08 remembering the vacuum state inside the bulb@X05.@X08  In either case@X05,@X08
once the bulb and@X05/@X08or base has cooled down to room temperature or lower@X05,@X08 the
bulb can be filled with an explosive material@X05,@X08 such as black powder@X05.@X08  If the
glass was removed from the metal base@X05,@X08 it must be glued back on to the base
with epoxy@X05.@X08  If a hole was put in the bulb@X05,@X08 a piece of duct tape is sufficient
to hold the explosive in the in the bulb@X05.@X08  Then@X05,@X08 after making sure that the
socket has no power by checking with a working lightbulb@X05,@X08 all that need be
done is to screw the lightbulb bomb into the socket@X05.@X08  Such a device has been
used by terrorists or assassins with much success@X05,@X08 since nobody can search the
room for a bomb without first turning on the light@X05.@X08
